About My Journal:
Hi! I hope you enjoy reading my journal. It should give you a picture of our lives through my eyes. I hope that after reading it you feel like you know us a little better and have a better understanding of what our lives are like.

Excerpts from Erika's Journal

What an afternoon! It all started with my afternoon walk. About fifteen minutes into my walk the toes on my left foot started burning. At first I was trying to figure out if my shoes were all of the sudden hurting my feet or what. Finally I remembered that while I was fixing lunch I had spilled hot sauce on my foot. I thought I cleaned my foot up well enough, but obviously not. It continued to feel hotter the longer I walked. I was glad when one of the ladies who walks with me provided some comic relief. She always forgets which way we go when we walk. Usually the rest of us remind her that she is turning the wrong way. Today none of us reminded her. We just watched her until she realized that the rest of us weren't with her. That happened twice. We all got a good laugh both times. The other event in our walk was the cow. It wandered through the gate shortly before we needed to walk down the road in front of the gate. One of the ladies said that she was afraid to get near the cow. Since the cow was headed for my yard I decided to chase it back out the gate. I wasn't interested in having cow pies on my lawn. I guess it wasn't in a bad mood. It went right out when I started chasing it. When I got home my toes were burning so much that I decided to sit down and soak my foot to see if that would get the hot sauce off. That did fix the problem after a while. Although after my foot was out of the water for a while it started warming back up again. Fortunately it hasn't gotten hot enough to be painful...
