Matt's Stories:
Normally I don't wear sunglasses, I was being goofy and Erika snapped a picture.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading these stories. They are true stories. Most of them are
funny, but there are some serious ones too.

Deoderant Refill In other news today, Matt refilled his deoderant container. I realize that most people don't write stories about deoderant, but you have to admit it is an important part of life. Here in PNG deoderant is relatively expensive and has usually exceeded its expiration date. For example, take this "stick" of "gel" deoderant that someone picked up for me in town. (they don't usually carry men's deoderant in the Lapilo store for some reason) Anyway, this "gel" deoderant had, at some point in its fairly extended life, ceased to exist as gel and turned completely to a very liquid form. It was past the expiration date. If you've ever wondered why deoderant has an expiration date now you can know the answer. Liquid deoderant does not squish through the holes quite the same as gel does. In fact it doesn't squish through at all, it just drips out. This one was leaking onto the dresser, which for some reason my wife was less than happy about. I had just finished a little bottle of "roller ball" deoderant (not women's deoderant), and I got the idea that I could refill the roller bottle with the liquified "gel" deoderant. So I popped the little ball out, poured in the "gel" deoderant, and then popped the ball back in again. It is working quite well. Despite being expired and in liquid form it still seems to be accomplishing its primary purpose. It does make a person wonder whether the "roller ball" deoderant companies buy expired deoderant from the "gel" deoderant companies. Who knows. I'm just glad I have deoderant, and so is my wife. |
